Ontario Targets 53 Tech and Health Occupations In New PNP Draw

Ontario has issued 611 Canada immigration invitations to technology and healthcare candidates in a new draw through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

The January 31 draw saw through the province’s Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker required a minimum score of 53 points on Ontario’s Expression of Interest system.

The following occupations were targeted:

  1. NOC 20012 – Computer and information systems managers
  2. NOC 21211 – Data Scientists
  3. NOC 21223 – Database analysts and data administrators
  4. NOC 21230 – Computer systems developers and programmers
  5. NOC 21231 – Software engineers and designers
  6. NOC 21232 – Software developers and programmers
  7. NOC 21233 – Web designers
  8. NOC 21234 – Web developers and programmers
  9. NOC 21311 – Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers
  10. NOC 22221 – User support technicians
  11. NOC 22222 – Information systems testing technicians
  12. NOC 30010 – Managers in healthcare
  13. NOC 31100 – Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine
  14. NOC 31101 – Specialists in surgery
  15. NOC 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians
  16. NOC 31103 – Veterinarians
  17. NOC 31110 – Dentists
  18. NOC 31111 – Optometrists
  19. NOC 31112 – Audiologists and speech-language pathologists
  20. NOC 31120 – Pharmacists
  21. NOC 31121 – Dietitians and nutritionists
  22. NOC 31201 – Chiropractors
  23. NOC 31202 – Physiotherapists
  24. NOC 31203 – Occupational therapists
  25. NOC 31204 – Kinesiologists and other professional occupations in therapy and assessment
  26. NOC 31209 – Other professional occupations in health diagnosing and treating
  27. NOC 31300 – Nursing coordinators and supervisors
  28. NOC 31301 – Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
  29. NOC 31302 – Nurse practitioners
  30. NOC 31303 – Physician assistants, midwives and allied health professionals
  31. NOC 32100 – Opticians
  32. NOC 32101 – Licensed practical nurses
  33. NOC 32102 – Paramedical occupations
  34. NOC 32103 – Respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists and cardiopulmonary technologists
  35. NOC 32104 – Animal health technologists and veterinary technicians
  36. NOC 32109 – Other technical occupations in therapy and assessment
  37. NOC 32110 – Denturists
  38. NOC 32111 – Dental hygienists and dental therapists
  39. NOC 32112 – Dental technologists and technicians
  40. NOC 32120 – Medical laboratory technologists
  41. NOC 32121 – Medical radiation technologists
  42. NOC 32122 – Medical sonographers
  43. NOC 32123 – Cardiology technologists and electrophysiological diagnostic technologists
  44. NOC 32124 – Pharmacy technicians
  45. NOC 32129 – Other medical technologists and technicians
  46. NOC 32200 – Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists
  47. NOC 32201 – Massage therapists
  48. NOC 32209 – Other practitioners of natural healing
  49. NOC 33100 – Dental assistants and dental laboratory assistants
  50. NOC 33101 – Medical laboratory assistants and related technical occupations
  51. NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
  52. NOC 33103 – Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants
  53. NOC 33109 – Other assisting occupations in support of health services

Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream Eligibility Requirements

To qualify under this stream, applicants must have the following:

  • A permanent and full-time job offer under NOC TEER category 1, 2 or 3 that meets the median wage levels for Ontario, and in a position that is necessary to the business;
    • For those already working in the position, the proposed wage must be equal to or greater than the current wage being paid
  • Two cumulative years of relevant work experience in the previous five years before the date of application;
  • Relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario, if the position so requires;
  • Live abroad, or be working, studying or visiting Canada on a valid permit;
  • Intention to settle in Ontario.
